Phoenix-area entrepreneurs don't have to be told why the Valley is a great city for startup activity and support; we have a growing arts and localist subculture, a good quality of life and low cost of living, a network of people and organizations dedicated to growing entrepreneurship across the state, and (yes) even financial capital can be found here. But it can be challenging explaining that to outsiders, so we put together a simple infographic of just a few of the numerous ways greater Phoenix is a hotbed for startups.
To recap, here are four main catalysts driving entrepreneurial growth here in Phoenix:
- Funding: There is money here (shocking I know!) Of course we have a lot of work yet to do to continue to grow our angel and VC network and catch up to other areas in the country, but startups are being funded.
- Support: Incubators, accelerators, co-working spaces, economic development entities, and others continue to pop up with support services (such as business development, mentorship, and facility space) for entrepreneurs to develop and grow their ideas.
- Champions: Every ecosystem needs big time brands and individuals to emerge and propel it forward. Infusionsoft, WebPT, Appointment Plus are just a few of the leading names with #yesphx and other campaigns congregating the community under one united banner.
- Results: Startups are getting things done...period.
